Hillcrest School opened in 1964 and is set on a hill in park like surroundings overlooking the township of Pahiatua.  We are a unique, progressive and well resourced state co-educational U2 full primary school catering for students in Years 1-8.

We have four permanent classrooms, a beautifully refurbished library and school hall.  There is also a Reading Recovery room, Special Needs room (which is used by mainstreamed students when required). We have two staff teaching Technology which is off site at Tararua College.

Our school is involved with many outside agencies which benefit both staff and students.

We are committed to providing a positive learning atmosphere where the students can take pride in themselves and their achievements in a whanau environment.

Hillcrest School is situated on 2.33 hectares of picturesque grounds at the end of Princess Street with a wide range of beautiful trees providing shade and a home for a number of birds, including native Wood Pigeons.
